Miramax Inks Chump Change

Last year I made a cameo appearance with my group performing two songs in a new motion picture called "Chump Change, (fame, fortune, cheese and beer)". Steve Burrows, (writer, director and star), along with Jerry Stiller, Anne Meara, Amy Stiller, Tim Mathison, Traci Lords, Abe Vigoda, Clancy Brown, A.J. Benza, Roger Clinton, and Fred Willard headlined the cast with Steve Burrows & Tracy Lords in a final scene falling in love dancing to the Steve Meisner Band. The movie is slated for release soon with a Milwaukee premier in the works. Burrows intends to have Steve Meisner perform for the premier and is featuring four original Meisner selections in the movie soundtrack.

The film headlined the Slam Dunk Film Festival and received "Best Comedy" and "Best Screenplay" awards recently. Chump Change was one of 20 films to be chosen out of 2,000 previewed films at the American Film Festival in Hollywood, CA and was the only romantic comedy chosen. From Hollywood the film went to Sacramento for another film fest and more rave reviews. During the screening's, Meisner music was featured in the theater before and after the movie was shown. Chump Change has been chosen as a featured film at the HBO U.S. Comedy Arts Fest in Aspen, CO., (www.uscat.com), and I'm told that "that's the big time". It won Best Comedy and Traci Lords won Best Actress.

The latest news is that Miramax has just purchased Chump Change with intentions of releasing it Nationally. The release date has not been determined yet.

I'll keep you posted! ---Steve
